In The Morning

In the morning I surfed like a king.
In the evening I fell like a child.
I saw the sun through the lip of a falling wave.
My memories of you running free and too wild.
I used to come here to forget,
I now surf to remember.
Not to let the fire die to a pitiful burning ember.
So as I look to the sea and up into the sky,
I realise life is a big surprise-superprize.
The ones of us who dare to be free,
will be the ones to fly..
